The Image

A tropical fish rises from a coral reef, trailing orange and yellow fins. The frame itself is part of the work, a hot orange border that lets the navy and cream inside do quieter work.

The reef is a halftone engraving in navy and white, the fish is flat colour. The orange border pulls the eye in and keeps it there, a decision made for the tee print where a small frame had to do a lot of quick work.

Third of the fishes, the most graphic of the set. Built to be legible from across a room as much as across a printed page.
